Hi,

I'm new to scalers/video processors but I would like to purchase one because my main sources of videos are digital cable 480i and dvd. I was looking at DVDO ISCAN VP 50 and read some where it is extremely difficult to setup by yourself.
Is this true? If so can you recommend a scaler for a beginner.

thank you

it's not very hard to set up the VP50, in fact it's one of the easiest units on the market to set up & learn...

if you're intending to use it for mostly DVD & SD cable, why not get a VP30+ABT102 or VP20+ABT102 instead?

they are designed with a very intuitive menu system and the manual is quite good in explaining things in addition, you shouldn't have any trouble at all

Ditto.

I set up my VP50 yesterday and it was fairly easy to update the software and configure the unit using the on-screen display.
