I was browsing the LCD forum the other day and came across this thread:

A guy apparently had the notion to shoot a video of his Sony XBR LCD against an older 32" Phillips HD CRT. He was attempting to prove that the motion blur of LCD is not a factor, and used the CRT as the control group I guess.

Here is the video: http://beastbox.net/xbr4vscrt.avi

Anyway, it's hilarious that he makes sure to state in BOLD FACE:

"This is not a picture quality comparison but a motion/ghosting/smearing/other issues comparison. The PQ is not the important part, look for the different issues talked about through out the many threads and compare them to the output on the CRT"

He also goes onto say, and of course the camera was a little off on the CRT movies but the important parts you can see.

Anyway, he got angry when I made some observations about other things besides motion blur, but I think people will find this video very interesting to watch. It takes about 10 minutes to download, but trust me it's worth every second :)

*Keep in mind that this is Sony's top of the line XBR LCD, FULL 1080P, 120Hz which will set you back at least $3,500 on sale versus a 4:3 CRT with lower resolution with the picture stretched due to the PS3 setup for 16:9.
