I seem to have an issue with audio loss (stuttering, popping?, distorts, fades out, etc...) and I think i have narrowed it down to the 8300HD (TWC). It seems to happen only on HD channels and I have noticed it more when we are watching a recorded show. I have HDMI out to Onkyo 605, and then HDMI out to the TV. It has come to the point now where it actually ruins the shows. Has anyone else had this issue?? Is it because I am playing the PS3 or watching other shows while recording another? I cant seem to put my finger on it and its really annoying. I dont have any issues with playing games or movies UNLESS it is order from ondemand. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really like to hear them. Thanks!!

I've had this problem quite a bit myself over the last couple years, and I have had TWC out 3 or 4 times, they basically check the signal, say everything is fine and they have to have them adjust the signal at the main hub. Like you it happens almost exclusively on HD channels, recorded or live, it doesn't matter.

I've had 2 or 3 8300HD boxes and 1 HDC box with the Navigator software on it and it still did it. I rarely can get through an hour long show without it happening, but sometimes its every 30 seconds or so and makes the show unwatchable. My box is connected directly to my SXRD via component, and optical to my receiver.

I am beginning to believe it is just the nature of HD and these DVR's. I am really tempted to pick up an HD Tivo box to see if it still happens, the drives in these just might be too slow or something. I don't know, its very frustrating.

I usually dont see this happening when watching live sporting events in HD. It is with mostly sitcoms. I dont know if that even matters. I just wish I knew if there was a fix or if a switch to satellite is needed to fully enjoy HD. I mean what is the point of paying for HD Cable when I cant enjoy it??

I also use TWC with a 8300HD and have the same exact problem. I've gone through 5!!! 8300HD's so far, with the same problem. I've had techs over 4 times and according to them "everything is ok". This only happens on HD channels.

I also used to have a terrible problem with audio on the CW network's HD channel. Audio would start out fine, then sound very distorted with lots of extra noise thrown in. It was so bad the show was unwatchable. TWC couldn't explain this either. This hasn't happened in a few months, so hopefully TWC fixed this.

I was visiting a friend who lived about 1 hour away from me who has an identical setup. We were watching some HD shows, and I noticed his audio would also go blank for 1 -2 seconds at least 2 times per hour. I asked him about it and he said he gets it all the time as well, but only on HD channels.

I think TWC has some major issues going on with their service....

Totally sounds like it...sounds pretty common. Like I said, I'm so tempted to grab a TIVO HD box just to see if this is alleviated...if it is, then we can say the boxes are crap, and if it remains, well I guess the service itself is just crap.

Also when my "All the Best" package pricing reaches the end of the one year promotional stage..(currently $115 for all three) I may just end up switching to D* or E*...unless TWC starts deploying the new Cisco boxes in the fall and this problem disappears.
