For months I've been using a HD-A1 and PS3 1080i60 into HDQ and 1280x720 @ 47.95Hz output. Works 99.9% flawless...
Taking advantage of everyone selling HD DVD kit off cheap I've purchased a HD-XE1 (euro version of HD-XA2). Using the same input on HDQ, same cable and same and memory setting on the HDQ (only difference is I had to change colour space to RGB444 on HDQ input) I keep seeing combing - argh!
I've switched on live flags and I can see the HDQ falling back to video when this happens (on scene changes and flashes (explosions etc)). I've tried forcing film in both the XE1 and the HDQ and the problem persists.
Have gone back to A1 using same discs and observing flags and it stays 100% locked on film.
What's going on? Is the Reon screwing up the signal?
Help! Anyone else using a similar set-up without problems?
I can't use 1080p24 out of the XE1 as 1080p23.976 to 1280p47.952 still has judder even with latest Lumagen firmware. Have tried firmware 2.7 and 2.8 on XE1.
