I fired up the projector and went through a couple simple adjustments to get the picture sized and where I wanted it and I must say I am BLOWN AWAY!

I'm coming from a regular TV so I've never had a projector, so that's probably part of it.

But I don't even have a screen yet, I'm just projecting onto my white wall and I hooked up my PS3 and put in I-Robot BluRay and man I just can't describe how in awe of the picture I was.

I've not had anything calibrated or anything. Just turned it on, adjusted the lens, and put the movie in.

I don't even have speakers for the room yet. I sat and watched the movie with no sound and was totally mesmerized.

I was concerned about light output being as my room has all white walls (something I intend to remedy) and I don't have total control of light from one glass door and a window, but I was completely impressed.

I watch most of my TV on my TV so this would be solely for viewing movies at night so I can't comment on daytime performance as in my room it would be nearly impossible to watch until I get the light control handled, but last night I was completely floored.

I can't imagine how good it will look with a screen.

I was concerned about getting the 110" Carada with it, but now I'm wondering if I should go even bigger... 120 maybe... I don't know :)

It will only get better from here! Have fun.

You should have no problems at all with a 110" carada. 120" might work OK you would have to ask other VW60 users. How far back is your seating? In most cases, bigger is better if possible. :)

i'm planning on going 119" with seating about 12 feet away, with the da-lite cinema vision (1.3 gain). if i had a longer throw distance i'd definitely go bigger.

My room is 19' x 15' and my projector is on the back wall on a shelf.

I don't even have furntiture in the room yet so I'm not sure where we'll be sitting :)

Glad to hear it. Sony's projectors are really good. Once you get everything set up and running y ou know pictures are a must!

I sat 11 ft. from a 119" High Power + VW60 combo. Plenty of light in low lamp mode with a high gain screen. Prior to that I sat a bit further from a 1.3 Carada 110" + VW50 combo. With the VW60 you should consider going larger than 110". Remember that 2.35:1 films (which most are) will be smaller.

Unless you want to go anamorphic. Most people stay under 133" diagonal for the VW60. Usually we find our clients to have 11" diagonal or less for 16:9 screens.

If you substitute the projector so that it was an Epson Powerlite Cinema 500 and change the year/month to Sept. 2004 then it would be my experience. Congratulations. The screen makes a difference don't hesistate. I waited until June 2006 before pulling the trigger on a Carada Brilliant White 96".
