I have a client that I just hooked up a sony vplvw200 with, and when we orginally hooked it up he had been running component video from a pioneer vsx91 elite av receiver, we since switched to a sony 5300es with hdmi. Now the picture is visably not as bright and we can not make it brighter by adjusting the projector. I am wondering is it a setting in the 5300es? or is the hdmi choking out the brightness? Should the 5300es just be set to pass thru? any help on what the best settings are ?

Nee more info as I am not familiar with the VSX91. Does it take HDMI. If so have you tried sending the 5300 through it verses direct? What player were you using before the 5300 through the Pioneer?
