the difference in the black levels/contrast ratio between the JVC RS1 and the Mits HC6000, or the difference in sharpness? I know I seem to be recycling the same comparison questions, I guess it's because I have heard quite a few different things and am trying to get a more solid grasp of the true strengths/weaknesses of each of these models in these categories. This thread really narrows down what I am most confused about; some people seem to feel pretty strongly about how much better the sharpness of the HC6000 is, and minimize the difference in blacks/cr between the two, while others see the sharpness as about equal in both with the bigger difference being in the blacks/cr of the RS1.

The RS1 was also much brighter. The HC6000 was sharp enough, though I'd give the RS1 higher marks in the black levels/contrast ratio.

I found the RS1 a tad sharper. Now understand, the cost of the RS1 is much higher (or was since it's discontinued). The HC600 was actually a very nice unit in terms of sharpness and color, but it wasn't very bright.

Interesting. I wonder if I am just hearing one side of it as so many people seem to claim that the HC6000 is so much sharper.

One thing that could account for that is the size of screen people are using. You can go much bigger ont eh RS2 than the HC6000.
