so i bought my sony 1251 projector and i changed the internal spacers behind the bulbs but then the long stick like spacer is a size large
but my screen is going to be a size 92" 16:9
so in the manual i need the size medium spacer
where do i get those?
or do i even need them?

The default Sony 12xx series plastic spacer is one size fits all. You remove
the lens which frees the plastic spacer and spin it to medium which should be the middle hole. You'd be hard pressed to mount the lens without the spacer...

I have two sets of the stock medium spacers. There's one on the inside and one on the outside of both outer tubes from the factory. I can send them to you if you like. I would suggest that you do away with the spacers and change it to the springs and grommets so you can set the mechanical convergence (toe in) on the tubes for better raster usage. You might want to read up on the modification, it is quite good for these machines.

your 1251 has bulbs? You have bigger issues than spacers.
Just kiddin'.
It's a CRT not a bulb.

You are looking for lense spacers. You can usually find them on Ebay for about $25/set of 4. (you only need the red and blue inside and outside spacers). Or you can spend less than 1/2 of that for the lense spacer mod. This will make your install 10x more difficult, but will yeild a much more uniform picture.

you can find info on it here on mooneyass's site (http://www.mooneyass.com/Sony1270Q/Sony%201270Q%20CRT%20Projector%20Setup%20Manual%20April.pdf)

or

I have about 3 sets of each. But as imprez25 and jkruger mention, read up and do the spring mod. You'll be glad you did.
