Hi Guys,

You know, when I thought about converting a room into a 'Home Theatre' (overly grand title!) I never knew it would be such a minefield.

So here's the score...

The room will mainly be used by my children as they grow up - I'd rather they doss at my house with their friends than somewhere else! I want to do the best job I can with the most up to day equipment I can afford.

1 - I plan to mount a projector on the ceiling and have narrowed my selection down to the Optima HD80.

2 - For DVD's and games I plan to use a PS3.

3 - I've been looking at Onkyo AV Receivers for the sound. (CD, maybe MP3 and DVD's)

4 - I've been looking at speakers and although open to suggestions, I've focused on KEF KHY1005 or Tanoy SFX.

5 - I want a digi-box of some sort and of course, the necessary cables...

6 - I might also add a Wii at some stage, you know what kids are like!

The room is 4.25m long and 3.65m wide at its smallest point. The ceiling is 2.8m high.

Anyway, what do you think of this set-up? Would you do it differently? Would you use alternative components?

My budget is between £2,500 to £3,000 and ideally I'd like it installed for me. I can do it but don't want to get it wrong...

Appreciate your thoughts and thanks for looking!
:)
