I just called to have my Sat. service switched to Charter cable. I am getting the whole package from them now. I asked the person on the phone if he would guarantee that my HD digital box would have HDMI output and he guaranteed me that it will. I have a ceiling mounted projector that has 35' of HDMi ran to it and nothing else.

I have talked to someone in this area with Charter HD box and they said they do not have HDMI output. So, I called back to charter and the next person on the phone said that I have a 50/50 chance of getting one that has a working HDMI output.

If it does not have HDMI, can I buy a cable box with HDMI that will work with Charter? I believe Tivo will work but I really dont need the DVR or want to pay an additional monthly fee.

If it has a DVI connector, simply use a DVI-HDMI cable or, as a second choice, a DVI-HDMI adapter to use with your existing cable.
