Hi

currently have it hooked up using Component out to Television, with 2 Audio cables, plus RF connection from Satellite receiver upstairs--it's a Dual Tuner Receiver(VIp622) Does the Es15 actually use the 480P picture quality to record, or is that just for playback, which i don't use the recorder for, i just use it for recording, and sometimes using chasing play with DVD-Ram

If you want PQ, you need to connect with an SVideo cable and stereo audio to the 622, not the RF cable. What you're getting now is closer to broadcast quality than to 480i. You can make or buy a 75u SVideo cable up to 100' or more and still get decent PQ. Same for audio, if you use true 75u cable, the distance isn't much of a factor.

Well if i just connect the Svideo and Stereo audio, i get nothing, Satellite receiver is upstairs, and sends out Signal via RF to this TV, (TV2) From That receiver, But i can switch it back to Svideo out to TV, and that audio cables, 622 is kinda far to run cable that far, been like this setup for over 3 years now

Would the Svideo cable fit thru the same hole the RF cable does? if not there isn't any choice but to stay with RF, Condo only will allow so many holes in the floor up there.

I'll have to find that long of S-video cable and Audio cable, and figure out a way to run it, without drilling a big hole into the floor, and get it to the 622 in the living room from the basement. But will be nice to have better picture quality.

Monoprice.com has great deals on S-video cables, and lots of other cables. I believe they have long lengths.
I don't thing you're gonna get a S cable + 2 audio cables in the same hole as one RF cable though.
I agree you will get much better PQ using S-video vs. RF like you're doing. Also doing it your way I don't believe it's stereo, unless your Sat. reciever has a Stereo RF modulator(which it could, just not sure).

Well guess i'll have to figure out how to run the S-video and 2 audio cables someway, somehow, originally it was wired by Dish Network when got it installed in 2005, and it's been that way ever since, the hardest part is figureing out how to run it and have it neat as well, and not make too many holes in Condo floor. Do have a wall fish from Audio Receiver upstairs, but don't think i could use that same hole for S-video and Audio cables.

Just read this on Dish Networks tech portal site, on installation part--DISH Network doesn't recommend runs over 12 feet of S-video cable

(1) Shared modulated TV Set stereo output (TV1, TV2) ch.21-69 Air, ch.73-125 Cable

Pic of 622, including the back--TV 1 only has the connection for S-video according to the pic, no such connection for TV2 on the back of it

You must use true 75u cables for long runs. The signal loss is minimal, well past 100 ft. these folks (http://www.svideo.com/) make their own cables and do it well. They are also very slim cables. Very reliable seller, I think they still offer custom-made cables too.

But you are correct that the 622 only offers composite video for TV-2, which is still better by far than RF.

Well i'll see if i can find long run composite cables i guess, but will take a few to find them, gonna need at least 100'-125' to even reach up there. Guess when we upgraded to HD in December 2006, i should've taken 2 single tuner receivers, but then wouldn't have the DVR's hard drive at all

It's certainly worth looking into a 2nd receiver upgrade.

Well we already have 4 Leased receivers, 622, and 2 311's, can't lease anymore at all, unless we drop one of the 311's, but i don't see that happening anytime soon unforuately.
