hi,
i recently purchased a sont vph 1272q.it was stored in its road case for aprox 3 months in my garage. when purchased the unit was fine. after being stored i had taken unit in to set up in house let it acclimate for a few days to avoid condensation went to power it up and all i get is standby light in rear the code light does not light up. the red standby light goes on the keypad will light up and led will light when any key is pressed but the unit will not power up from standby. same thing happens when trying to use the remote as well and am using it wired and wirelessly. is there a main fuse for the power supply or is it seperated and has 2 individual fuses? i have opened the cabinet completely tried to lift up the main circuit board but i cannot seem to do that either. can anyone please help as this is very frustrating. any input will be greatly appreciated. please reply to mrmuuzik@aol.com thank you.

No, we reply here, that's why this is a FORUM.

Ther are no other fuses in the set other than the main one which is OK, as you have power.

You could have:

-bad power supply
-bad CPU board
-dead short somewhere in the set causing the power supply not to fire up.
-condensation somewhere on the data buss which is killing the 'turn on' command.

If you want to pull boards and send them to me for testing, I have a working test chassis here, but this type of fault needs someone to start swapping boards.

Muzik, post your location also. Maybe there is someone nearby to help you.. There are LOTS of 12xx sets out there.....

You cannot go wrong with Curt either, so either way, you'll get your set running.
