I have a proplem with updating a Vision-3 to Vision-2 .

The Vision 3 is a Ultra version without the stigmator boards.and the normal fokus modul .The upper

motherboard is the version for the more geom. options. I put in

a Ultra fokus modul and it shows in the onscreen menue all new options

but the geom.did not work.

I think you need some more boards and maybe an higher softwear.

ok i found an email from TIM Martin where he lists what is needed to make an ultra

"They handed this to me. The needed parts remain the same, and costly. And I have not tried this:


Ultra control board and deflection processor 2,000 +

Ultra top motherboard 290

Geometry-focus board for Ultra 930

Modify convergence and vertical boards 200 "

So it looks like you will need those boards as well.

Vision 3s were based on the Marquee 8110.

You may have the wrong convergence amp board, and possibly some other boards are wrong. What is your main firmware version and serial number?

Convergence BD 03-270330-01P
Fokus and Geometry BRD 03-270354-02

It looks like the only difference between your convergence board and the ultra version is a couple of wires that feed the additional geometry signals to the motherboard.

I dont think it is the convergence amp board bacause
there are only amps on the board.When I put in the new fokus board only the geometry
didn´t work but the convergence works .

On the models before the Ultra, geometry originated in the control module as waveforms. The Ultra got a serious redesign with addition of new controls such as vertical skew, side bow, and edge keystone.

I look in my plans and the only difference from 03-270330-01P to 270350-01 are
3 680 ohm resistors for GV geom, GV geom. is the extra signal out of the fokus geom. board.
I bult in the resistors but it did not work.

Your projector may have the earlier backplane and top mother board, which do not pass the required signals.

No the numbers for the mother board are the ultra numbers and there are only the pins and not the white conectors.

Visioin 3s were M8110s so yours may not have an Ultra backplane.

I will look on the numbers but i Think when they install the ultra mother board than there will be also the ultra backplane. Also when I put in the the ulta fokus board I see the
new geom, menu.Also when I go in the master menu i can set the PJ to vision 1 and 2
and all ultra projectors

My best suggestion is try your control and geom/focus boards in another chassis.
