after i accidentaly snagged a wire/connector on my 1272 and spot burnt the three tubes, i noticed my green going in and out of focus. it looks just like when you ajust the focus pot only its doing it on its own. the green is the one with the most serious defocusing problem. the reason i'm still trying to salvage the set is because i have a parts machine 1272 i can get 3 tubes from but the reason the parts machine is the parts machine is because some of the converging functions dont work eg green keystone. so im just curious what went wrong with the focus and if i can get it to focus good then i'll go ahead with the tube-swap aswell. :confused:

I would swap boards out of the spotburned 1272 to the parts 1272. Suspect boards for keystone failure can be the DC,E and the boards between the tubes(Y,DB,DD,DE). The experts can chime in on this one as to exactly which one to start with.

Much easier to swap boards than tubes.....
