I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I think I've tried everything I can think of. My prepro (sony TA-E9000es) is set for autodecode. When I plug my 2930 into it with a DD or DTS dvd it auto sets it for multichannel. I tried a Sony dvd player and it worked as well using the optical cable.

My prepro does not have enough anologue inputs or HDMI so I have to use optical. For some reason I only get 2 CH out on my optical when connected to my 1930 - any suggestions? I've gone to the set up menu on my 1930 but it doesn't have a lot of choices.

Is there a firmware update for it by any chance?

It turns out it only works with Bitstream for multichannel - not sure why that is but would be interested. I only get 2 channels with PCM but I thought I got multichannel on pcm with the 2930 but could be mistaken.

I'd also be interested if there is a firmware update.
