I like CRTs. A lot! I have a Panasonic plasma that's great, but since CRT hdtvs are dirt cheap nowadays(no one wants them), I'd love love pick one one. 36" 4:3 sets....how in the world does it display 16:9 format video? With bars of course?

Also, They're great for displaying old game systems(480i/p)? Or any SD material?

Not necessarily.

For DVD video feed if you set DVD player’s screen ratio to 16:9, widesreen movies (1.78:1) will show up on 4:3 TVs without bars...albeit slight “taller” picture.
