I am a bit confused as to what to do if I have the following set-up:

Toshiba lcd with 1.3 and using hdmi
oppo 981 via hdmi to...
Onkyo 805 with hdmi and 1.3.

What are the best settings for dvds? the onkyo can decode all codecs, so I am trying to figure which is the optimal settings for my 5.1 set-up? Thanks!

I'm also running a 981 into an Onkyo 805 via HDMI. The 981's manual is pretty clear on how to set it up. Is there a specific setting that is confusing you?

I guess this is more about how the onkyo and the oppo work together, and which should do the decoding. Send raw or lcpm? use 5.1 in oppo? which combination of settings provides the highest overall audio quality, etc. Thanks.
