Would the new Mac Mini with Leopard work well with a 1080p projector (Marantz 15S1)? I tried my Mac book Pro with my projector using DVI to VGA adapter and the picture looks soft even when using 1080p resolution out of the Mac book Pro.
Try using a digital connection rather than VGA.

Unfortunately, I've used up all my HDMI connections on my Marantz. I have VGA left.

I tried the DVI to HDMI cable and the picture is sharper but the resolution is 1080i (not 1080p). Would the new Mac Mini capable of outputting 1080p.

Yes, it'll put out 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60Hz from what I've seen at my house.
To get the mini's default 1080p60Hz setting, change the number of displays in your display list to 10 and select the second 1920x1080 in the list. That's the progressive scan one.

Nathan, thanks. I guess I'll be getting the Mac Mini pretty soon.

I just bought myself a mac mini with 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and an upgraded memory of 2 GB and wireless keyboard & mouse. How do I change the number of display to 10? I only have 8 and I'm currently using 1080i, there's no 1080p. I must admit that 1080i looks real sharp but I'd like to use 1080p with the 24 up to 60Hz rates.

In the displays menu in the system preferences, there should be a checkbox for "Show the displays in the menu bar." Once it's up there, click it and change the number of recent items to ten.
For what it's worth, I think that 1080i resolution you're seeing is actually 1080p. I thought I read somewhere that it was mislabeled in the OS as interlaced.

Nathan, That's what I did, "Show displays in menu bar" and there are 0, 3, 5, 10 on "number of recent items". I clicked on 10 and there's only one 1080 60hz and the rest are 720 ntsc and pal. How did you get 24 to 60 Hz rates?

I didn't have to do anything special. My monitor reported to the mini that it accepted 24hz - 60HZ, so they were all in the list without user intervention.
Otherwise, you can use SwitchResX or DisplayConfigX to set different refresh rates manually.
