VGA cable is half full with the stuff sheet rock guys spray on walls. The acoustic stuff comes off easily with a rag and water from floors or windows but this situation is a bit more delicate. Thanks in advance!

I would dip the wire in a bucket of water. try not to get the connections wet.

not sure what they used, but if should be water soluable. If so, warm water should remove it. If not, try Goo Gone sold at Lowes or HD..it removes just about everything. Be sure to read the can to be sure it's OK to use on cable sheathing.

If that was mine, I would try warm soapy water, a tooth brush. rinse, shake off the excess and dry thoroughly with a hair dryer.
