To get this out of the way I am in Raleigh/Cary, NC on Time Warner. I have Navigator version 2.4.9_3 and an 8300 HDC box with an external HDD hooked up to it.

For the last 2 weeks we have had to reset our 8300HDC box every morning. After reading these forums I saw that we were experiencing the same problem most others using the external drive and TW Navigator 2.4.9_3 are experiencing. I decided to test it by unplugging my external drive which was pretty nearly full (70% according the software). However, after an entire day of being unplugged I wanted to watch some content and plugged it back in, but its no longer showing any of my recorded programs in the list!!! All I am getting is the list from the internal drive. I have tried all of the following with no luck:

Unplugged the HDD, turned off STB, re-plugged in HDD, turned on STB
Unplugged HDD, rebooted STB, plugged in HDD, rebooted STB
Turned off STB, unplugged HDD, replugged in HDD, turned on STB

The drive is being recognized because I get messages about plugging and unplugging it and asked to reboot when I plug it in. Also my list went from 22% full to 13% full after reboot with the drive attached.

Have I lost my content I had recorded? Did it reformat when I re-plugged it back in because it never asked me? Or is there someway to get it to rebuild that list using the information from the external HDD?

I have read through the main threads for Navigator and external HDD looking for this answer and I have not been able to find it. I apologize if I missed it in there but I spent the better part of a day looking through them.

Thanks in advance for any help
