I can't believe it, I think I may build a dedicated home theater. I love my set up that I have in my family room but after seeing all these great set ups I thought it would be fun to give it a try.

I can't afford to go nuts so I thought I would start with the Panasonic PT-AX200 Projector, a do it yourself screen and a low priced surround sound system. I have attached a quick drawing of the room dimensions . Any recommendations would be appreciated. I don't even know if this room is big enough but on the projectorcentral web site it said that I should be able to install a 90" screen at these dimensions.

Remodeling the room is the easy part for me but regarding all the technical stuff I have no clue.

Thanks in advance for any help

I have changed my mind and I'm now thinking of buying the Sanyo PLV-Z5 projector. What do you guys think? Any advice on a low cost surround sound, I was thinking of getting the Onkyo HT-SR800 7.1 system. Also, any advice regarding the room would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the Z4 and love it. Very clear with no SDE at about 9', at least to me, and I have yet to watch any HD material on it. Good contrast and plenty bright in lower lamp modes. Over 500 hours on the PJ and still on my living room wall LOL By the time I get my HT done will probably update to 1080 and use my Z4 for outdoor movies.

Thanks for the info. I really think I'm set on getting the Z5 because I haven't heard one bad review for this unit. We will be sitting about 10 feet from the screen so it sounds like a pretty good set up.
