I had a problem with my LiteOn hd-A740GX not reading blank DVD+/-R's, after reading replies to people with similar problems I found the firmware update on the official LiteOn website and followed all instructions, updated my DVR and now the drive won't read any DVDs CDs blank or not blank or even store bought films!! When I power on the DVR the disk tray pops out, put any disk into it, close the disk tray LOAD flashes on the display then promptly spits the tray back out again. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? It has gone from just having a problem reading no blank cd's to not working at all just because I updated the firmware! (and yes, I ensured it was the correct file for the DVR)

Upgrading firmware always scare me. After I updated my Panasonic ES40SV, I've been having a problem where the thumbnail picture defaults to whatever picture is at 00:00 time. I have to change it numerous times before it accepts a different thumbnail.

If you haven't done anything to your machine other than upgrading the firmware, then the firmware may have possibly messed things up permanently.
