I have this problem everytime I turn on the 622 and my TV. The screen is blank, no picture. Audio is ok. If I disconnect the HDMI out on the 622 and reconnect, I get the picture back.
I have a Vizio 42" plasma with DVI input, and I am using the HDMI out of the 622 through a HDMI/DVI converter.
What could be the problem?
I have heard from 2 Dish installers that there is a problem with the 622/722 HDMI and Vizio displays. I have one connected to my Onk 905 receiver with no problems. I would try changing HDMI cables as a test if you have a spare.

It was working for a year. It just stopped working suddenly.
I have connected my upconverting DVD player through DVI and has no problems.
So I am suspecting it is 622 problem.

I have the 622. My just went out about 1 week ago. It worked for almost a year then all of a sudden it stopped? I wonder if they did a software up recently that my be causing this?

What software is it running? (Menu->Menu)
I still can't get a clear picture on my 722 via HDMI, but the picture is there, just foggy. Component works just fine for 1080i though, so no big deal.

Foggy? What channel? Are you doing 720p or 1080i out? Moreover, have you checked the cable?
Some of those older 622's had defective HDMI connections. However, that would likely make the HDMI go out rather than just be foggy.
I have a 622 connected directly to a Mitsubishi 57732 DLP via HDMI. (Honestly, I prefer to use component, but I suspect HD over component may be going away in another year or so.)

All channels. I am doing 1080i to my Samsung LN-S4696D. It is just a bad combination of my TV wanting 1 color-space and the 722 sending a different one. Funnily enough, it works fine with my PS3 and AppleTV via HDMI, but then both of those devices have selectable color spaces whereas the 722 does not.
