I've been trying unsuccessfully for the past hour to get my first-generation Mac Mini to display an image on the DVI input of my DLP. A few searches on here revealed nothing, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has actually been able to get one of these (any model...I'm quite open to purchasing a new unit specifically to use for this purpose) to work with the Mitsubishi DLP TVs. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I've run a 1.5GHz PPC and a 2.0GHz C2D to my Mits WD-Y557 DLP directly with no problems. However, when I try to pass the video through my Onkyo pre-pro, it refuses to sync.

I'm not sure about the newer models, but I have a 3 year old WD-52525 and have had no problem feeding the VGA input from any of my Macs. Currently, I have a 1.83 Ghz Core 2 Duo Mini and the picture from it is perfect (by which I mean I see perfect pixel reproduction). The only issue I have is the ridiculous amount of overscan in this TV, but that's a problem with any input.
For my model Mitsubishi, and possibly yours, it is not recommended that you use the HDMI (I assume that's what you mean when you say "DVI") input for connecting to a PC. The main reason for this is the HDMI does not use a completely digital path in this TV. It get converted to analog component, passed through various switching circuitry and other stuff, and finally converted back to digital. The VGA input gets immediately converted to digital and goes directly to the display engine.
Using this method, I find the picture to be excellent - in fact, playing DVDs on the Mini looks better than when I play them with my DVD player connected via component cables.

I finally got the Mac Mini to display an image (and I didn't see any overscan) on the DVI input of my Mits DLP (I had to do a global reset on the TV), but after spending several hours trying to figure out an easier way to get the recordings to play back using Front Row, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle for me since I do have other options (DVHS). I tried VLC to play back the files as is, as well as converting them to a format playable by Front Row, but in the end I decided that it was just much more convenient to continue using DVHS.

I've got my intel mac mini set up through DVI and it looks pretty good. I have to flip the contrast if I really want to read a long article but the music visualization plug-in looks rad.
