My Denon DVD-2900 can not read CD-Rs.
I tried two different brands. The same CD-Rs plays perfectly in a dozen or so CD and DVD players we have at home and in cars. DVD-Rs from the same brands work fine.

No problem either with Octron CD-RW and Verbatim DVD-RW, the only -RW discs we have ever used.

Can someone recommend CD-Rs they have used with DVD-2900 and happy with?

Also, is the Denon capable of playing Dual Layer DVD-Rs ?

Many thanks :)

My 2900 is finicky about home-burned media, especially dvd. While it will play DLs to some extent, it sometime freezes up and sometimes has problems accessing menus. This is with Verbatims.

Verbatim DLs appear to be the most popular and available DLs and I was going to buy a box. So thanks for the warning.

Have you ever had probs with CD-R in your DVD-2900 ?
