Hello all:

Im in the middle of a home renovation and decided to prewire for a 7.1 system using Monoprice 14 AWG CL2 inwall wiring and various gangplates etc.

Here is what Im thinking for the system:

(1) 46" Sharp Aquos wall mounted (existing tv)
(2) Denon AVR988
(3) Orb Mod 2 wall mounted in front, ceiling mounted side and rear.
(4) Upgrade to Orb 300W sub

You'll note the two seats up front are about SIX feet from TV and will mostly be for me and my son, the wife gets the back row. If it were up to me Id build stadium seats, black out the windows and go projector --- but you know how that goes. :)

Oh -- last Question: If you dont have the receiver/speaker yet, any way to ensure speaker wire is good to go before closing walls by way of a line tester or something? Not sure if they should be pretested....

Please let me know what you think about the proposed setup and layout.

Thanks all!http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q230/Larain60/fr.jpg

With you sitting so close and having the side and rear speakers so far away you are going to have a hard time hearing them especially if you are using ceiling speakers. I would propose that you bring the speakers much closer or get a directional ceiling speaker.
