I have this strange situation:
I recently replaced my SA 8500 HD PVR -- the old one had all the audio die. The new one doesn't seem to work with IR extenders.
Pointing the remote control directly at the cable box provides full normal control, but dangling the ir repeater head in front of the box and shooting IR at the eye doesn't work.
You would think the extender is broken, but it worked fine with the old cable box, and I have now tried two extenders and they both fail to make the cable box channel change. One of the extenders lights up a little led when it is communicating IR, and the light flashes normally when buttons are pushed, but the cable box simply ignores it.
I've never seen anything like this before. Any ideas?
