I am purchasing a Pioneer 1150HD next week and am looking for suggestions on an inexpensive stand for it. I may end up mounting it on the wall and I may also be moving and/or purchasing a new living room set in the near future so I do not want to spend a lot. I am just looking for something simple and sturdy. Maybe something metal? It does not even have to be designed to hold a TV. It seems that TV stands are really overpriced at most retailers.

The 1150HD comes with a stand. If you are looking for furniture to put it on, there are tons of things that would be perfectly fine. I used an Ikea table for the longest time and it was prefectly fine.

so inexpensive=???
russ is right, besides the stand that the Pro1150 comes with there are so many things you could use as a furniture type stand to sit it on. an old coffe table, heck two milk crates with a black cloth over them. or go to home depot/lowes and build something or walmart has some stands from $100-$200.
you could build the box and then go to a granite place that sells remnants and make a very nice stand for pretty cheap but look like you spent $500++. lots of choices..........
