Finishing up my basement HT and would like some advice on in-wall speaker selection. The system would be used 75% for HT and 25% for music. Room size is 15x28x8. I have the following equipment:

Denon 4306 receiver
Mains – Boston Acoustics VR975
Center – Boston Acoustics VR920
Sub – Boston Acoustics PV800 (I will try out, may move to Hsu)

I would like to setup a 7.1 system with the side and rear surrounds. In wall will work best for my room. I have heard the Polk TC-625i and the Polk LC-65i. I liked them both but the LC-65i might be a little too high for my price range. I would like to hold the cost to $250 per speaker or $1000 for all four.

1. Would the Polk’s sound good with my Boston Acoustics?
2. Does the 4-ohm impedance of the LC-65i cause problems for the Denon 4306?
3. What other speaker manufactures and models do you recommend (Triad, Axiom, BA, etc) ?

Thanks

Anyone have any experience on in-wall surrounds in my price range?

I wish I could help you, but Triad starts at $550 each for surrounds. Polk, Boston, Axiom are all good, and in your budget. Best of luck.

Thanks Paul. $550 is a little over my budget! I've seen some Triad speakers at a lower price, but I was not sure the seller was an authorized dealer, warranty issues. etc. Would you recommend the In-wall mini 4 lcr? Would the minimum 3.5 ohm impedance be a problem? Thanks
