Would anyone mind? Even if it was limited to only TVs made after 2004, it would greatly help me. As soon as I pinpoint in on one to search for (used of course) I hear of an inherent problem such as a moving 2-inch vertical line mucking all my work up. If it makes it even easier, please just rank the top 5 most coveted 34" HDTV CRT Sony TVs. I have OCD, so any TV with a moving vertical line, or any design flaw is going drive me nuts. Thanks!

I would say the Sony XBR960, XBR910, and XS955? are the three best.

Thank you for your quick response, I really appreciate it. Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to omit the 970? My guess was that was going to be #1 because it was made after (I presume) the 960.

Well, since you have OCD I really think CRT isn't for you since it has the most geometric
distortion and prone to more "something wrong". The top one is KD-34XBR960 and the 2nd
one should be KV-40XBR800. The rest are KD-34XBR970 and so on. You have to understand
that CRT are not engineered perfectly per say. It has a yoke which only focuses on the
center perfectly and the rest, may god be with them. You get also get overscan and the
most definitely convergence. The only thing that is keeping me from getting away from this
technology is the picture quality and price. Take picture quality off then you are stick
with one heavy SOB. I would look into Pioneer Elite Kuro 1080p plasma as it almost have
the same black level and picture quality of CRT minus the cons of CRT.

P.S.
I own XBR960 vs XBR970. XBR970 is brighter than XBR960 because it has bigger holes in the
aperture grille than XBR960 finer holes. XBR960 also has 1440x1080i resolution compare to
XBR970 853x1080i. But in terms of everything they look the same but the aperture grille is
much noticeable on XBR970. There is no need to break balls to find XBR960 when XBR970 is
already there for you.

Well what I mean is that a moving vertical line as discussed on this board is going to distract me. A little overscan won't. I own a 26" Panasonic Tau ct-26wx15 and I absolutely love it. If it weren't for a tiny bit of overscan, I'd say it's got the best PQ of any of my friends or family's TVs.
