Does anyone have info/comments on the Toshiba dvr 610 recorder/VHS combo?

I'm in the market for a recorder/vhs that can upconvert to 1080p. I can't find any reviews on this model.

Any info/suggestions would be appreciated

i have the 600 since xmas, and its been back to toshiba 3 times, just got it back last week... still does not record for more then 3mins from my camera..

i sent a 'nasty' to toshiba last week, and they did come back and are exchanging the 600 for the 610... whether the 610 is any better is the question...

i would not buy a toshiba...

i borrowed my bro's panasonic this morn, pluuged in the camera, and so far it is recording without problems...

i'd stay away from toshiba...

did u receive the 610? if so, any good?

not yet... i sent back the 600 on monday, so it should take about 2 weeks... in the meantime, i have recorded 6 hours (3 tapes) hi 8mm tape from my camera to my bro's panasonic...

not a hiccup so far...

maybe i give him the new 610, and keep his machine...

I just got a Toshiba 610 and set it up this week.
It worked easily the first time to archive some shows from our DVR.
I haven't tried the dubbing from VHS yet.
I heard complaints about the long manual but thought it was fine.
