this is a dedicated theater 13.6' wide by 16.5' long. there will be two rows, 4 chairs each, obviously the back row will be quite tight to the wall. the back row will be raised about 10"

I have paradigm monitors and a cc450 for the fronts/center.

when i sold my last house i sold the surrounds that were mounted so i'm in the market for some surrounds.

i'm trying to land some paradigm adps. would i be disapointed in the 350s or 470s over say the studio adps or adp450s?

2nd question. if i get adps, should i get two for the sides AND 2 for the rears? or would i be better to get direct radiators for the rears? remember, that back row will be tight to the wall.

i have read some of the guides, and have had a ht for a while, but with these adapted dipole speakers, and dolby true HD and all, some of those guides are
likely a little dated (many are from 2005).

height is a little easier...28-28" above ear level with at least 1' to the ceiling, right? and in line with or slightly behind the primary seating (that would be the row farthest from the back row)

one last item: i may be building a torus screen which can tend to focus sound to the primary seats, so direct radiators in the rears might be an issue.

so to sum it up: one set of adps, or two, 3 series or 4, have locations changed with the advent of the next generation discrete 7.1 formats.

thanks in advance for weighing in!!

I don't want to be mean, Robb, but I think the lack of response might have something to do with the fact that your post is really hard to read. (I'd suggest some capital letters and paragraphs.):(

My only suggestion, since I don't know the speakers you're asking about, is to somehow move that back row of seats away from the wall. You can never get good sound in that position. I know it's a drag, but if there just isn't room for eight seats, cutting back to 5-6 in more of a U-configuration would give everybody a better experience. My room is ~16x16, and as much as I'd love to have a tiered second row, the room is just not big enough, nor the ceiling high enough, to make that comfortable. In the meantime, I do the best with what I have and dream of my future dedicated home theater....
