I'm not trying to start any fires here, but was wondering if somebody could clear this up for me...

I'm thinking about picking up a 50" 85U soon and I was in BB today. They didn't have the 85 so I asked a guy to look them up on the computer. It said they have 70 some in their warehouse, but their status was 'DELETED'. He said that they must be phasing out that model. He didn't know what to think when I told him that they were just coming out. I'm positive it was the 50PZ85U at the top of his screen. I hope they are just going to phase up to the 800U's.

Phasing out the model huh? The stupidity of retail is amazing.

At bb if a new model says deleted, it's because they don't want employees to sell it before they completely clear out the older models, or that they do not have enough yet to ship to the stores.

That makes more sense. You think they could find a better description word like 'warehouse only' , 'order only' or something...

Way to go BB.... confused salespeople = confused customers!

Well I bought mine from inside the BB store today so they have them instock.

Not all stores will inherently stock the 50PZ85U, it showing as deleted means that particular store is not currently suppposed to carry that item.

Yes, you did and I like it a lot so far. You're going to sell a ton of these sets. Close to 8G Kuro blacks with XBR4 brightness. Very cool:)

I've been hanging on to a 12% off coupon for the panny tv, but it only works on in store models. Their computer said the same, all the stores around me have 0 or 1 (display model) in inventory. Can't wait to see one. Might have to scoop one up before my coupon expires if they show up soon.

When are the 800U's coming out? Would sure like to compare the two before I pull the trigger. I see Amazon shipping has backed off to 1-2 MONTHS on them.

My local BB plans to have it up on display this weekend

nope sorry dude we just hung one up today for display, also i was not impressed my pz750 has a much better picture
