very frustrating problem dealing with Onkyo 503
so today my 3 yr old 503 after I made some adjustment on my TVR, it went into "amp protection mode" , a blinking red dot nearby the standby button,
tried many many times, keeps turns off right after 1 sec..

i been searched all over internet, no solution, i cant give up ,
anyone please tell me

Usually "Protection Mode" is there to catch shorts and shut the system down before there is any damage. Most cases it is a speaker wire touching where it shouldn't. Double and Triple check ALL of your connections.

problem still exist after I disconnect "all" of them wires. the front red light keeps blinking no matter what
I tried press "VCR" + "1" method, still not working?


i mean i absolutely did not mess with any wires today?

anyone please!~

Is it overheating? Is there enough ventilation on top?

That can kick it into protection mode.

hey guys, im gettin into a serious maddness

no, nothin on top, it's in a outside stand,, now i already unplugged everything!~ still not workin, it's just not standing by for more than 10 secs
it auto shuts off within 5 secs, please? anyone!!~

ive another ques:
say if the costs to fix it might be more than 100 bucks.
im considering spend about 200-300 for a new one. which one would you suggest? to me, im a student , not a lotta time stay at home, but while im home watchin dvd i need good experience, so any good entry levels?
