I came accross someone in switzerland who asked me if the Video Filter can do Widescreen Signaling encoding for PAL systems. In looking into this in detail, I found a spefication which shows how WSS is done for PAL. In the same specs, it shows how Copywright protection assertion is performed.

Has anyone come accross the need to do this? That is, are there people interested in being able to control Copy Protection and WSS for PAL? Does anyone has a problem with backing up content to DVD recorders for PAL systems?
