When I first got my Pioneer 640, (the love of my life) it would not play a disk I received from a cyber friend but played OK on my portable player and in my computer. I posted my problem which was in April 2007, for which I received no replies to what it might be. That was the only disk I had trouble with so I just forgot about it. In February of 2008, that incident came to my attention again, but with the more knowledge I had acquired, I was able to pinpoint what I guessed to be the problem. Now I know it WAS and IS. THANK you marlon71USA for the PM asking if I ever solved the rolling problem which made me look into it and solve it.
I just purchased a software program to make movies with. The burned disk of the movie I made, did the SAME thing as I explained above. To find out, (using Nero Info Tool) my software program burned the disk in PAL (UK) format. The same format the disk I got from my friend in Australia is in. SO “PAL” causes rolling, not viewable, playback in the Pioneer 640 for sure. Now if there is a setting for 640 to play in PAL to switch, otherwise has to be NTSC format. (USA)
I have sooooo much to thank this video forum for.
Because of it, I learned how to “run” my Pioneer 640 DVR.
I want to especially thank Suplex for getting me to using the Print to Disk feature of my Epson R320 which I LOVE!
I want to thank you all for your patience in helping me learn what I did. For all your help in contributing to the enjoyment of what I like best, “Video World”. Even better than a man! “LOL” (Urlee running to hide):o
I love you all.
Sincerely,
The nutty female who is in love with “Electronics”,
Urlee.
