Hi,
I need help with my new amp. I just got a QSC RMX 2450 Amp and after doing a lot of searching Im still confused on how to setup the gain control on the amp.
As of right now, i have the amp connected to the FL/FR preouts on my Denon 2307CI receiver via XLR/RCI cables. My front left/right speakers are Infinity P362's that are rated up to 200 watts, and the 2450 will out 450-500 watts per channel.
I have tried to mess around with them, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of rhyme to reason as no matter high or low i turn the gain knob along with setting the receiver to about 0 to -10 db, there's no clipping. Also, how come at lower volumes on the receiver, say about -33 dB, the signal indicator usually stays off. Is it that, once the signal reaches a certain high enough level it then starts pumping out from amp? Because i thought if you have it connected to the receivers pre-amp terminals it always uses the amp? Thanks for any help that you can offer.
