I have a Cablevision SA8300 connected via HDMI to a sony 60a3000 TV and via optical audio out to an onkyo receiver. When I switch to an HD channel often times the TV doesn't recognize the signal from teh HD channel and I get audio but a black screen. I can remediate 100% of the time by switching inputs on the TV to some other source and then back to the cable box. If I'm on the black screen and switch to a non-HD channel, the picture comes back without having to do the input switch on the TV. Also something if I wait for a minute or two the HD picture will come in by itself.
Anyone experience a similar problem with their HD sets and know what may be causing it? I've narrowed it down to 3 possibilities:
1. The optical out from the cable box is somehow interfering with the HDCP
2. The TV is bonked somehow (although I have a PS3 connected via HDMI to the TV and optical to the receiver without any problems)
3. The cable box is being too whiney, and needs replacement.
Just thought I'd get some advice before I make the trip to the optimum store.
