Hello All!
So I've had my new plasma for about a month now (Samsung 5054). I've been playing with the settings to get color as close as possible without having to shell out a few hundred buck for a pro calibration. I've been using DVE and so far everything looks pretty good.
The one thing that I seem to be missing is when to use the red and green filters and on what test pattern? Not sure if I'm just too dumb to clearly understand all the steps or if DVE is a bit vague on this. Can somebody please explain to me what I need to use the red and gren filters on?

Thanks,

Daryl

Watch the entire DVE , it tells you how to use the filters.

YOu need either filters, or preferably a blue-only (and G-only, R-only) color mode in the display to set color saturation and balance, which is done usually on a colorbars pattern.

Basically you can use the red and green filters on the same pattern as the blue. See http://www.ramelectronics.net/Video-calibration.ep for a basic explination. Realistically you probably won't be able to get the ideal look for all of the filters and will have to choose a comprimise. Filters aren't perfect though, so my opinion is to get what you think is the best comprimise and call it good.
