this may sound like wishful thinking, but I have an old microsoft sidewinder wheel i used to play nascar racing 4... it is usb, has anyone had any luck when hooked up to a ps3? I'm guessing no, but thought i'd ask before I go to my parent's and dig it up.

Ayeight exactly whats the retail price on the steering wheel and retail on the game. I'm definitely interested and will go ahead and preorder if its worth the trouble. Hopefully a $20 savings or more.

Any less than that.. and I'd just rather pick it up from the store the day its released.

The game is $40, the wheel seems to sell for $50-$60. This deal is ok, not great. This is not the new wheel that was announced at GDC.

If you're going cheap aren't you better off going for a MOMO?

Checked out the G25 at CompUSA this afternoon....didn't seem like the quality factor was that high to justify the $225 price.

What kind of experiences have you guys had with it?

Didn't it have real leather and real metal pedals? The only thing I've heard some mix reviews about is the shifter, but there are mods for that.

I ordered the G25 from Amazon and should have it in the next few business days... I've had the old version of the Driving Force and the current Driving Force pro, so I will see if it is really worth it. If I don't, I'll just buy the Pro version again.

Yes, but leather (probably synthetic) and metal are not terribly expensive...I'm more concerned about the driving characteristics.

Is it more precise than the other wheels? More (accurate) feedback? Sturdier? There's got to be something there that warrants the difference.

I will let you know next week to see if there is a 160 price difference between the the two.

I just got my G25 and racing seat. I can't compare it to other wheels but I love it so far. I used it during GT:HD and even Burnout Paradise. The GT:P is going to have full support for the G25.

I did a lot of research before buying it. You can always get the logitech DFP but people say the G25 responds better, is better quality materials, and has better forced feedback (internals are better). From what I've read you can spend over $1,000 just on the wheel/pedal setup for a good set... but from everything I've read online people say the G25 is the best you can get for a sub $1,000 setup.

If you visit any sim/racing forum 99% of the people recommend the G25. I figure these are the guys that know what they're talking about since most have owned a bunch of different wheels... I'll trust their opinions and I got the G25.

Playing GT4/5 with anything less than a Driving force PRO is a WASTE.

Do NOT buy this wheel if you want a great racing experience. The Driving Force Pro is sooooooo much better for a little more money. Not just because of the 900 degrees of rotation either.

Not with motion steering if that's what you mean.

Hey guys sorry for not getting back to ya... I only have been able to use it for about 2 hours at most. First impression is that it is built a lot better than the DFP and DF. Handling does still feel the same as the DFP, but better than the DF. The shifter does take a bit to get use to, but once I have that down it will be perfect. Also there are mods you can do to increase the realism of the G25 on many computer car sim forums. If your strap for cash and don't use manual or don't drive manual in real life... I would definitely get the DFP, but if your use to manual and want to splurge... get the G25. I will have a indepth review later this week.. since some game comes out this week that I can use it with :p
