I'm looking for a decora style wall plate that has an hdmi connector, as well as component, but I a want it to be 'all in one' (single gang). I know it's possible, I've seen the dual port hdmi wall plates. It seems like there is enough room to replace one of the hdmi port with 3 rca jacks (maybe they would have to be a little more bundled together, kind of like speaker wall plates are).
Has anyone seen this, or maybe have an idea how to build one?
thanks

You can also go here and design virtually any type of plate you want:

Be warned that it's pricey, but you can easily have HDMI and 5 RCA connections for component video and audio.

Is this what you would use for running HDMI cable from your equipment rack to the overhead projector? You would need one by the rack and one by the projector, right? I assume that the in-wall HDMI cable simply plugs into the back of the two wall plates, right? Is the same true for the component cable setup? Is it a good idea to run one HDMI and one component, or two HDMI's, or what?
I'm asking because I'll have a new home built this year, with a media room (as the builders refer to it). I plan on getting an A/V receiver with HDMI switching, and I'll run all video sources through the receiver.

If you're just running it to the projector, I wouldn't bother with a wall plate. Put one of the pass through covers on it and feed the wire out. I would only recommend a wall plate for auxillary purposes. I put one in by my seating area in case someone wanted to hook up a device without sticking it in the rack.
i am a big fan of direct connections. i just used a pass thru wallplate at the PJ to plug the HDMI directly into it. the back of my equipment rack is in an unfished closet so no wallplate of any kind was needed. just plugged it right in.
here is a pic just after install.
