Forgive me if this comes off as a "dumb question", but I just recently purchased a Samsung LCD TV.

I have a DirecTV HD DVR Box and a PS3 plugged into 2 of the HDMI Ports. I have my Samsung DVD-VR330 plugged into the Component Inputs.

Now obviously with this setup I cant record from LIVE TV to a DVD as my DVD Recorder and Satellite are not on the same Input. Is there a splitter that I can use for this situation like the old RF splitters? Or is there any other way to do this?

Thanks for any help!

DVDRs with digital tuners can pickup ATSC 8VSB channels from an antenna (called over the air or OTA) or QAM unscrambled channels on Cable TV systems. They cannot receive signals from a satellite antenna. Since you do not have cable your Live TV options are OTA or from the output of your DTV box limited by having to set the channel on the Sat box before recording.

Your best bet is to take the S-out(best) or composite out and audio out of your Direct box and run that into the line input of your DVDR. Then to record whatever your STB is tuned to just select line input on your DVDR.
To watch what's going on temporarily select the DVDR output on your TV. After you've verified every things OK then do your watching by selecting your STB on your TV. For PQ reasons don't really watch live TV through your DVDR, but personally I'd check do the check thing to make sure every things going OK.
