So I've got some 8+ GB WMV HD files on my desktop being streamed wirelessly to my PS3 via TVersity. Video plays pretty damn good. Couple hiccups here and there but overall it's very smooth and looks great. 1 problem: No audio. None. When I hit Select on my PS3 remote it shows VC-1 for the video codec and shows the bitrate. But beside it where the audio info should be, nothing. Totally blank. What's the deal here?

Are you transcoding the audio on-the-fly to a compatible format? That's the only way I could imagine it could work, as I don't think the ps3 ever had the ability to perfectly play wmv-hd, in the first place. I know it will play the video, but not the audio, if you play it directly from its hdd.

I just tested something with TVersity and I was able to get audio! I turned on Transcoding >> Always and I got audio. The video looked like crap but I did get 2 channel audio from it. Is there a way through TVersity I can have it play the video in full and transcode only the audio?

I know that and they play fine on my 360. I would just much rather use my PS3 as my one and only media player.

I'm really the last guy to ask about tversity and settings for transcoding. I just know that ps3 will play the video natively on wmv-hd, but not the audio.

I know there are numerous topics on getting the most out of tversity in the avs/Home Theater Gaming/playstation area forum, here. There is a resident guru you will see in most of those topics. I'm sure he can answer your questions, if you can track him down.

Do you have Nero 7 or 8? I've been using both as a media server on different computers and it seems to work much better than TVersity. You can also convert files to different formats to make them more compatible.

It would seem that if the WMV-HD is encoded with 5.1 audio then the PS3 will not play it .

I'm just wondering if maybe the PS3 has improved it's support for WMV-HD in any of the recent firmware updates. I know that WMV-HD is basically a Microsoft format that Sony doesn't really care about, but it is pretty popular, so I thought they might support it.
