Hello,

I have my new HP laptop connected to my new Sony KDF46e3000 via HDMI and I cannot get a picture. I had a Toshiba RPTV and had no problem using that as my laptop display. I have followed the instructions in the sony manual about setting my laptop's output rez to one accepted by the tv to no avail. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I was thinking that the fact that the toshiba was a 768p set and the sony is a 1080p may be a problem but i just don't know. I've tried searching the sony support forums and the net in general. Am i missing something basic? I'd appreciate any advice.

Have you tried 720p resolution almost every HDTV accepts that over DVI.HDMI?

yes. nothing seems to work

Is there a VGA input on the set? If so, did you try that?
