"Those who harbored desires to go on Crackdown-esque romps through New York City with a genetically mutated pal will undoubtedly be crushed to learn that developer Radical Entertainment and publisher Sierra have decided to scrap Prototype's multiplayer mode in order to encourage players to truly delve into the single-player storyline, and, more truthfully, so they could meet their original Fall 2008 launch window." WOW  This was probably the game I was looking forward to the most. I had an absolute blast just beating Crackdown with a buddy about a month ago and was hoping this could be the next big sandbox game (possibly even better than GTA4!)
The game honestly went from a must buy, to an eh, I'll pick it up when its used at gamestop for $30. They did mention in the article that they may release multiplayer as a DLC down the line, but I most likely wont be picking it up if/when it happens.
