Hey, AVS gang..
I'm considering the following carpet (this is the rug equivalent, but the pattern is the same) - and am wondering..does carpet with a lot of pattern/design reflect light from the PJ?

Carpet on the stage will probably be pure black, or black with a "bit" of pattern in it..screen wall is black GOM (FR701). I'm a bit concerned, however, with any pattern being in the area to the left and right of the stage, as shown in the following pic:

With the lights totally out (for movies), would this be a distraction? What about with the lights partially dimmed for Sports, HDTV, etc?
Seems like a lot of the rooms I've seen here have pretty subdued carpet, so I'm wondering if that's because "busy" carpet takes away from the overall HT experience?
We're trying to get a real "Theater" feel to the room and have a decorator helping us pick out fabrics, carpet, etc. She's come up with some pretty cool things that together will probably give the room a real "wow" factor IF we can pull it all off. (Big issue right now is using something other than GOM on the walls, and making sure it's fire resistant, as GOM is..I'll post on that..adventure..next).
Thanks!
