Hi everyone.

First I would like to say what a great place this is and how much I appreciate all the great wisdom from the members. I have often used the information I found here. I have not posted much (at all?) but have been searching for info here for the past 3 years leading up to this project.

I can't seem find an answer to the specific question below.

Some brief information about the project. I am currently doing a home remodel and it will include a new construction dedicated theater/listening room.

Noise problem: The room is basically in the center of a single story home on a concrete slab. The room is surrounded by bedrooms and hallways. The attic space above is mainly storage and crawl space above all the rooms in the home. I realize this was not the ideal location and the original plans were for large room second floor over garage with less issues about soundproofing due to it's location away from the other rooms. However, due to budget the plan was downsized to a single floor. Now this has added more theater specific cost due to the need for more soundproofing.

I plan to do RSIC/DD/+/-GG (still deciding) on all the walls (inside and out) as well as the theater side of the ceiling. I need some input on how to treat the attic side of the ceiling. Anything in addition to insulation? I may be unduly concerned but I don't want the sound to flank the walls through the attic and derail all my other efforts.

Also, does anyone have any experience with the RSIC-1 Backers for hanging heavy objects, eg. Plasma TV, projector or soffit on a floating wall like I am planning?

Thanks,

Mark
