When setting up the Samsung 6176, I was unable to receive the non HD channels over the HDMI cable and have had to place composite cables to the next input. This requires me to change screens to switch from HDMI 1 to composite 1 screens to view non HD channels. Is this correct or have I missed something in the setup to allow me to watch all channels from my Direct TV source on the same screen? Any help would be appreciated.

HDMI supports all ATSC resolutions HD and SD so the problem is most likley in the setup of your DTV output options.

Some sets are unable to process 480i through HDMI you need to change the standard default resolution to 480p for standard definition material.

Thank you! Turning off the 480i on the Direct TV box resolved the problem. Now I receive all channels thru the HDMI screen.
