View Full Version : When do the new Mitsubishis come out?

Artwood

When does Mitsubishi typically have their line show and announce their new models? When do the sets usually arrive?

Will Mitsubishi stay with DLP? Will any of the laser projection sets they are going to be out this year?

Will they keep producing 73-inch sets?

Will they put the new Samsungs in the toilet or will they go down the toilet?

What are the major improvements that will be worth waiting for?

Is Samsung versus Mitsubishi now the Final battle in the realm of Rear projection?

How much longer can rear projection hang in there?

Is anyone at the rear projection forum even interested as to when the new Mitsubishis will come out?

Does anyone have a clue?

When did they come out last year?

Please forgive me if I'm asking forbidden questions.

Good questions, but no answers yet.
New Samsungs just hit streets in smaller sizes and nobody knows what is inside them, since even official specs are conflicting.
No one is perfect and I am looking for 2008 battle of giants (72 Samsung and 73 Mitsu) to grab the winner.

The ABC Warehouse website shows the Mits. WD60735 and the WD65736 are expected in May. If the prices they have listed are accurate they sound pretty reasonable.

any differences in these models than last years?

As an official dealer who is trying to find out for myself... Mitsubishi has the following models planned.. MSRP = Mitsubishi's Retail / MAP = Minimal Advertised Price (the price at which TRUE dealers are allowed to advertise at, anyone not advertising at MAP or are seemingly below are probably not selling Authorized Units and Mitsu will not honor your warranty, so always buy from an Authorized Dealer)

WD60735 / WD-60735 - MSRP $1799 - MAP $1599 (replacing 57, no more 57's) - April Relase
WD65735 / WD-65735 - MSP $2199 - MAP $1999 (new standard model, currently available) It's available, but I'm still pushing the 65734 to customers today.
WD65736 / WD-65736 - MSRP $2399 - MAP $2199 April Release Date
WD73735 / WD-73735 - MAP $2999 - May Release
WD73736 / WD-73736 - MAP $3299 - May Release

New Stands
MBS60/65 $399
MBS73 - $499

New LCD Models will be released in June.. I have not received anything on new diamond series or 833 replacements at this time.

I wouldn't chalk to those up to being "official specs" quite yet.. but they are the only website to be posting any information.

I myself have spoken with Mitsubishi because the 65735's are in stock with no specifications to sell off of, and I was told two weeks before any official specs will be released.

Like maybe nVidia actually updating their 3D drivers to work on newer cards and updating for new games? It isn't rocket science.

60" for that price? I missed out on the A3000 due to budget constraints but I may give that a serious look this fall.

I continue to believe RP is slowing dying away but I seriously believe some good deals will be had over the next year or so on RP technology with the lack of interest. I still have my XBR2 and love it. I like my XBR2 just as much as my fiance's parents XBR4 LCD they got for Christmas.

What is the differences between the Diamond and 735 sets? I am a Samsung owner who needs to replace it and I am getting sick of QC problems with Samsungs.

The only knock I remember about Mitz is the overscan? Maybe they will have a viewing mode this year like Samsung has to minimize Overscan.

I posted the answer to this above..

The Mitsubishi lines have been:

Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Medallion
Mitsubishi Diamond

The 735's for 2008 are the entry level models, the 736's are the step up, and the 835's are the grand daddy deluxe model..

for 2008, according to various publications
"The 835 Diamond DLP series will feature the 65- (XXXX) and 73-inch (XXXX) screen sizes. Features include a high gloss back cosmetic design with blue-light accents, Smooth120Hz frame-rate conversion, wired IR, NetCommand and Dark Detailer, which further enhances image detail in dark areas.""

so for those who missed it the first time, and still need FURTHER clarification..

The Diamond series have HIGH GLOSS BLACK bling bling paint on the chassis, it's still plastic underneath, but high gloss black looks cool.. it has the blue light accent colors, a 120hz conversion engine to give you good motion based video(sports, things with FAST motion that tend to blur as they are displayed across the image), and their dark detailer feature..

The medallion's have always been the common route, as the price difference between the 735 and 736 is minimal, the step up price from the 736 to 835 will probably be a little steep at first.. till you see the picture of course.. :-)

I just saw a LT-52244, that is a sweet TV!

So basically, it looks like the 120hz is the big feature missing from the Medallion.

Can somebody tell me what the deep field image is on the 736 model? The 735 does not have it. Also see that 736 has net command and 735 does not. I was wanting a 60 for thinking 65 maybe to big and a little over budget, however are these features worth it?

per Mits: DeepField™ Imager constantly adjusts brightness and contrast for optimum settings in all areas of the picture. It can even optimize complex scenes containing both dark and bright areas. DeepField™ Imager analyzes 135 sectors of the picture in real time. It determines the optimum blend of contrast and brightness settings within the picture using advanced Mitsubishi algorithms. Based on picture analysis it dynamically adjusts for areas that are too high or low in contrast and/or too dark or bright displaying the best balanced picture in every scene.

HI

Just got off phone with Mitz and they are replacing my WD73727 optical engines failing. They are going to reimburse the store the unit was purchased from store cost then I can go and purchase a new unit at cost Mitz suggested 73735. All I am looking for is apples to apples I don't want more for the money but I also don't want to take a step backward.
After reading what has been posted it appears th 73736 is the approx equivilent to my existing model. Mitz has not posted anything on their site beyond the 73735. Is this implying that the higher end models are being delayed. Or they are not updating the site ?

The 835 series is the new diamond not the 736. Im just curious if the 835 will now have true 120hz and not use 3:2 pulldown like the current 833.

Just came from local hh***** here in Ohio and they had a 65735 on display. It looked great the viewing angle was so much better than the sammy 650. The 735 was a lot brighter it was sitting beside a 734 and a sammy 650. The picture was a little grainy but i will blame that on the stores split cable lines. To me this is a clear winner over the samsung bulb model or led.( my personal opinion.) I think Mitsubishi has improved there TV's this year.

The WD73737 was the low end 73" model. The WD73827 was the mid level and the WD73927 was the high end.
So therefore the WD73735 would be the so-called equivelent model.
