I posted this in another section, but this may be the better place for it.

Looking for suggestions for a wall mounted shelf to hold a projector.

I need to place it above an arched doorway. The projector is about 12 lbs, and its dimensions are 5" high, 12.25" wide, and almost 16" deep (before cables, so need to add a little extra).

I'm not the handiest guy in the world so would prefer something that is fairly easy to mount, maybe even something that is self-leveling. I'm flexible on looks/style, and willing to spend a couple of hundred $ if it's really the right solution.

Thanks!
Rich

Chief Manufacturing makes a WMA-300 is not shelf but rather a wall mount arm. I have installed these before and they are pretty simple to install, maybe this will work for you.

Visit chiefmfg.com for for more information.

I think it will be difficult for you to find a shelf that deep that can hold the weight of a projector that big. You may need some additional support from the ceiling. I built a pillar against the wall to support my shelf, and I cutout a section of the drywall behind the projector (a built in cubby) where the wires connect into the projector.

I am in the same boat. I have the Sony VW50 "Pearl"...it's a beast. :D I need a high shelf over the seating area. (can't ceiling mount)...It's about 19 inches in depth...I looked at several nice wall mounts for TVs & while they are plenty wide, they are not deep enough.

I simply have to get this done as the current setup is smack dab in middle of the back wall getting in the way of where better seating can be.

Help! :)
